Beginning this month, we will be sending out a communication on the 18th of each month to keep you informed about important topics and updates concerning our LEC and the airline. As a reminder, if you have any questions or concerns related to the CBA, especially those that could potentially lead to disciplinary action, please contact Sam directly, as he is the sole representative for our local council in such matters. Additionally, even if you are currently flying a regular line or trip, please remember that you are still an LEC 98 Training Pilot. Your role extends beyond simulator sessions or OE/Line Check instruction, and we encourage you to continue reaching out as needed.

Spirit Airlines has changed a lot since our LEC structure was last updated. Domiciles have opened and closed. Some domiciles have shrunk; others have grown. It’s time for our council structure to catch up to the state of the airline. At the October 2024 MEC meeting, a sub-committee was commissioned to study the current structure of our Local Councils. These recommendations from this committee culminated in filing Resolution 25-02 at the last MEC meeting. This resolution is currently tabled and awaiting action at the next MEC meeting in August. Under this resolution, two new councils would be created, and the current councils would be rebalanced. This will more evenly spread our pilot population between councils and create council geography that makes sense.
